We have been converting video tapes to DVD for over 15 years and still the majority of our customers want to see their old home movies on the TV using DVD’s. DVDs are easy to use and work with both older TV’s and newer TV’s with an hdmi cable. However more and more are requesting another more friendly format such as usb sticks. USB sticks are great as they can be used on numerous devices. Our smart TV’s have slots for usb sticks. Problems can occur with many different file formats such as mp4, mov, avi and then each mp4 can have an infinite number of settings which can make it work great on one TV but we find it is incompatible on another TV. There is no one file format for the video which is guaranteed to work on every smart TV. If you have a TV that is older and not a smart TV you can still find a DVD player with a usb slot or your digital tuner may have a usb slot for playing your own media files from.
Smartphones have transformed how we view and share photos and videos. It is possible to view your vhs video tapes on your smartphone. These is great for those who want their video and camcorder tapes onto usb stick to play on all their devices. The usb stick will work on your TV, computer and your smartphone.
Another option is to upload your videos to the cloud.
